I got a new/old guitar today =D

The #1 thing I enjoy in life is playing guitar. I've been playing for 8 years.
Since EA is gay, and won't let me upload clips...

Had a buddy of mine over, he happened to have his camera with him, so I took a couple pictures of the guitar I picked up today. The guy I bought it from purchased it brand new, and barely played it. Then his 12 year old son got a hold of it, and proceeded to remove the screws/plates from the locking nut and lose them. His kid also left the guitar out all the time, letting it collect dust. The guitar is in pretty decent shape overall, it plays awesome, appearance wise it just needs some TLC.

It's an Ibanez RG series. 24 frets, replaced Seymour Duncan passive bridge pickup, blah...
(you guys probably don't care about all that... lol)

Wicked paint job, along with awesome "Shark Tooth" inlays.







Now, I just need to tear it down and CLEAN everything...
that's what Sunday's are for right? lol.

Not a super expensive guitar, but still very good quality and playability.
and you can never have enough guitars... trust me.

eh, not a fan of ibanez myself. but i know that's what like half of metal players use. but that's a pretty sweet purchase if you got it used

lol. i have a collection of guitars... it's like a library... haha

Metal will always be the reason I started playing.
But, you can't be a good musician if you peg yourself into one style.

(shhhh. don't tell anyone... i've been known to play country songs with a Telecaster through a Fender Hot Rod combo....)


I'm actually looking to get a good classic acoustic, and learn classic finger style technique.

I love how Ibanez guitars play, when they are set up the right way.
and of course, with some pick up swaps... lol

i play bass, but my best friend is like a guitar junkie, only he's poor, so he can never have all the ones he wants. lol.

haha you need a big-ass Gretsch if you really wanna play country XD

That's awesome man. My brother plays bass.
Seriously, I have a list of guitars I want to have before I die. For real.
Gretsch is on the list, just a little ways down right now.

What kind of stuff do you play?

i started playing punk, way back in middle school. but now i play more like classic rock and bluesy stuff. I do dabble in some metal, but mostly classic stuff like Judas Priest and Black Sabbath

i think everyone starts out playing punk... really badly... hahahaha. i know i did.
I practice a couple hours a day usually, and i always play some blues towards the end.

plus, there is nothing cooler than a walking bass line.
