Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
I had to work early last night Mamba, not luck on some drift sessions... SOON though.
Blackhawk and I, couple quick runs on Fujimi today.
me in the s13, and Blackhawk still tuning his new Mazda Familia... yeah, you read that right... family sedan. haha awesome!
New tunes take a while to iron out...
Getting closer...
That's better... line for line!
Double guard rail taps!

No disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me

Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
DAMN!!!!!!!! Might have to get this for Christmas!!!! (If you are still going to be playing then) Those pics, once again, look so fucking real? Looks like a ton of fun..
So do you just race against each other and drift the whole time taking each other over throughout the track? Go high on the corner and come out low to take them over down the next stretch.. I like racing games, but never buy them... I dont know anything about tuning cars.. but I sure can drift and play well in Dirt when I was into it... '
I tried playing the demo for this and I was not that impressed but it was very limited... I also made a new thread in the video section if anyone is interseted in Camel Tranny's

Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
drifting is about staying together, matching speed and angle. not so much about overtaking.
its ''easy'' to overtake someone. staying right next to someone is the challenge... then being able to stay smooth and make it look good. car control to the max.
On the competitive side: let me introduce you to Formula Drift. In the tandem drifting rounds (2 drivers against each other) the leading car tries to pull away from the chasing car, with better speed, angle, while hitting all the judged clipping points. (points usually marked with cones or barriers that are judged, where you have to be as close to them as possible, with as much speed and angle as possible) All the while, the chasing car is trying to get as close to the lead car as possible, and get closer to the clipping points, trying to take the inside line. All during this, trying to get as much tire smoke as possible, to get the crowd into it.
seems like a lot, but after you see a few rounds, you get the idea...
ill still be playing this game, for a long time. plan on getting a steering wheel around xmas time, so it will only get better.
the demo is lacking for sure. The tuning is deep in the game, but its not necessary to know it all. I have been buying/building/tuning drift cars for just about everyone on my friends list. So, if you do get this game, you'll be plenty hooked up, for sure.

EPIC Corolla session with Blackhawk (white) and I (red)
there's just something about a hammered Corolla that makes me smile...
start it off clean
how the carnage began...
second angle
ummm, so the corner of the wall didnt budge...
getting the tandems going, after the thrash... lol
i told you, everything looks better when the Corollas are hammered!

Drift Office s13 replica by yours truly.
can't do white wheels in game, which is LAME, and there is a body kit/hood glitch that makes it a little off, but you get the idea.
The real thing:

Sebring Shenanigans.
park up, and drift as close to the cars as you can. that's the name of the game.
black s13 - Blackhawk
yellow s14 - Bene
white s13 - Embers (parking dummy)

Mamba, i wanna see that RS200 in action for myself! haha.
lost all my settings/ect for doing Forza vids, so here is another test.
Tsukuba left hander, elevation change can give some troubles...
here's how I do it:
E-brake in, throttle control + counter steer, hold angle and mash the throttle out.
http://www.wegame.com/watch/embers-drift-test-01/
still getting used to the MS Wheel, buts its getting a lot better everyday.
if you DONT use in-car view, like a real man, then you suck. LMAO

Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
the ford is fun but it's not a real drift car (mid engine, AWD) just made it to fuck around with.
video looked good. i didn't like the camera change mid-turn, but i guess you probably gotta do that sometimes. LOL Buy the filmer's pack! LOL
i'll keep the cockpit view in mind. it's fun to do to fuck around with, but in real races i just can't do it. i dont know the tracks well enough

Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
lol. cameras are completely dedicated. the most active being the "Replay Camera".
you don't get any control over them, no key-frame system of anything like that.
the lame cut mid turn is all game. pretty lame, but its what we got for now i guess.
there should be a RWD swap for that RS200. i would think there would be, anyway.

Re: FORZA 3 drift/drag/shenanigans/to the max
i can't remember if there was a swap available, maybe i'll check soon. gonna try and get a drift video up on wegame today.
i tried some other cars today, it's so easy to overdo it.
but i think it's the AWD that makes it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy. i don't have to do shit except not go too fast, let off a little, then tap the e-brake. hardly need like any countersteer.
